About the Artist
Karly Ireland is an illustrative painter located in Valemount British Columbia with an extensive background in animation and book illustration. Rugged landscapes and wild animals are her source of inspiration. Whether it be a whimsical character design or a mysterious mountain landscape, Karly brings her own style to each piece of art. Primarily, her paintings for animation and book Illustrations are digital however her fine art paintings can range in medium from dreamy watercolors, contemporary acrylics or bold graphic works of art.

Living in the Canadian Rockies for most of my life I have always been moved by mountains, water and wildlife. Below is a collection of my most recent works. Currently I am represented by the Jasper Artists Guild Gallery, Whistle Stop Gallery, Hinton Art Club, Tourism Jasper, Tourism Valemount.
Digital Illustration
I have been working in the digital art medium for over a decade. I like to use this medium for book illustration, graphic design, animation and have even printed a series of limited edition reproductions of canvas or paper. The end result is a perfectly vectorized image that can be applied to print making, clothing design, web design or art for your home.

Watercolour and Ink
Hiking, fishing, skiing are some of my favourite hobbies and I always keep a sketchbook handy to capture the moment. Watercolour is an amazing medium to travel with as it is light and portable. Somtimes these quick sketches later become reference for larger more finished works.
Painting Classes and Events
I beleive that everyone should be able to express themselves through art .
For the past ten years I have been instructing painting classes. What started out as a fun activity for friends soon became its own mini side business.
